WHITE HOUSE WINE

The Morris-Jumel Mansion, built in 1765, was originally designed to serve as a summer home for the Morris family. Morris-Jumel has selected this White House Wine as a simple, summer-y blend to have on hand as your house white wine.

Morris-Jumel Mansion’s White House Wine is an off-dry white blend made from un-oaked un-oaked Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris. It sports apricot notes and a smooth finish with medium acidity.

HERITAGE ROSÉ

Since its construction, Morris-Jumel Mansion has been surrounded by sweeping lawns and gardens. A prominent feature of the ground’s landscape today are many heritage rose bushes containing rare varieties from the 19th Century and earlier. Morris-Jumel is a proud member of the Heritage Rose District of New York City. Learn more about our roses at heritagerosefoundation.org.

Morris-Jumel Mansion’s Heritage Rosé is a light and fruity semi-sweet blend of Vidal Blanc, French Colombard and Chambourcin, offering hints of strawberry & honey with a slightly sweet finish.

SWEET LIPS MADEIRA

Morris-Jumel Mansion’s Sweet Lips Madeira blend is the marriage of two of George Washington’s favorite things – his love of Madeira wine, and love of dogs. Sweet Lips was one of the many creative names which Washington gave the dogs he owned and bred, and Washington is widely credited with being the premier breeder of the American Foxhound. Madeira was the favored drink of the “Founding Fathers” and was consumed in celebration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, among other major early American milestones. Huzzah!

Morris-Jumel Mansion’s Sweet Lips Madeira contains hints of dark cherry, complimented by the perfect amount of sweetness. Chambourcin wine fortified with brandy.
